Food for Alice

Food for Alice is a social enterprise of the Arid Lands Environment Centre (ALEC) that runs a weekly farmer’s produce market on Saturdays between 9-11am at the ALEC office at 90 Gap Road.

Food for Alice sources food from local, ethical suppliers including private gardens, small-scale producers and the Alice Springs Community Garden with the aim to build food resilience in the local community and reduce food miles.

The Garden and Food for Alice have a close relationship and Garden plot holders can financially support the Garden by sharing excess produce to be sold at the weekly market with the returns going back to support the Garden.

Plot holders are also welcome to harvest and sell the produce directly to Food for Alice themselves.

Friends of the Garden can also be involved in supporting the Garden to sell Food for Food for Alice by assisting with harvesting of the communal plots.
